Ice cadels

This week we made ice candles  and i thought after we put the oil in and the ice in and the wax in and left it overnight it would still be watery on the inside when we ripped it open.

We used ice,oil,cartins,wax,candles,pans.

1.We cut of the top of the cartin.

2.We put the oil in the cartin and we rubbed it around the side of the cartin.

3.Then we put the ice in the cartin.

4.We melted the old candle that didn't work and then we pored the wax in the carton with the ice.

5. Then we let it settle overnight.

6. Then we ripped it open and it started to pour out water out of the sides of the candle that had holes in it.

november reflection

 THis week we had to do our november reflection  and we ha to write about all the things we had to do.

I found it hard think what to write  on my blog.

i found it easy to put it on my blog because i now how to blog probably now.

next time it will be a february reflection.

 

Art coloring book

 Today for cybersmart we did art coloring book and i liked the coloring in  because i like coloring in on my chromebook and i like coloring in on paper and then we had to put it on our blog and i like blogging.

I found it hard to color it in  because i kept on missing it up .

I found it easy to put it on my blog because i now how to blog now. 

next time i will do a different one because i don't want to do the same again.   

 

Patterns

This week we had to make a piece of art and we had to make lots of patterns and then we had to put it on our  blog and i had so much fun drawing the pattern.

I found it hard to drew the patterns because i didn't know what patterns to do.

I found it easy to put it on my blog because i know  how to blog proudly now.

spooky house

 This week for our reading task we had to make our own spooky house.And  first we had to read The spooky house and then we had to make our own spooky house out of paper,on your chromebook,or out of lego. Inference means to look for the evidence to support our answers.They didn't know if anyone had lived there because the house had been on sale for years since  that crazy scientist died.

I found it hard to to make the spooky house because I didn't know what to put on my spooky house. 

I found it easy to put it on my blog because I now how to do it properly.    

Next time I will make it look more real because this time I have used pngs.

 This week we had to do this sheet because next week we are going on camp and we  won't be able to do it

Camp goals 2020

 Next week we are going to camp near Rotorua we are going to tui ridge and tui ridge  is got bank beds and it has a big dining room it looks huge and i think it looks cool.We will be going on the luge the flying fox and nand the high ropes and we will be playing laser tag and we will be going on the gondola and we will be doing indoor rock climbing and we be doing slingshot paintball and lots of other activities.

It lived on the South Island of New Zealand, where there were no other large predators.

Fossil evidence shows that the areas where the Haast's eagle lived were covered in forest

and shrublands, as well as in the grasslands on river floodplains.

Bank when something goes up  is going to come down to the ground. if you throw something left it will go down to the ground and if you throw it write it will come down to the ground because of gravity. There is superglue that holds our planet together. You can't see it but it is always there. if you hold something in the air and you drop it it will not go up it will go down to the ground. When you jump up why don't you go to the ground on your feet? if you hold up a bowling ball or better or an apple that's an item wall for the
 ground. The super glue will hold everything to our planet like people and pets we'll fly away?

Duck Shooting at the River

We were learning to describe in our writing.
I found it tricky to use juicy verbs and different sentence starters.

I was at the river looking for ducks in the river. We walked around the corner and we saw some amazing ducks.We got out our gun and we shot an amazing duck. In a minute the bullet hit the duck. The dog barked and it put the duck on the ground. We picked it up off the dirty ground and put it in a sack.And I looked for more ducks but we only found  3 ducks. We could see  no more ducks in the river. We went to the Different River. There were a lot of ducks in the river. We left some for the next time  at in the river. We got some and we took them and had some for lunch. I had to cook them and it was the best duck I have ever had. My sister does not like it at all so my Mum said that I had to eat it all up. It was a delicious duck. I loved it so much.

Jesus Ascending into Heaven

We are learning about the ascension of jesus
He rises into heaven in front of his disciples and when they opened their eyes, he had gone up into heaven and said he will be back and he will never leave them he will always be there for them .     

Henri Matisse

We are learning about Henri Matisse
He likes cates allot.
We had to use primary colours plus white or black to mack the colours  we wanted.
WE had to  to blend in white to show light direction.
Then we used black pastel to add details.

 

At the Beach

In writing, we are learning to describe.
I had to use:
* juicy verbs
* different sentence starters
* similes

I found it easy to use juicy verbs.
I found it tricky to use a simile.
Next time I would ask Josh to help me with ,y simile.

My family was walking on the soft wet sand. I was swimming in the waves and I was jumping in the water. Then I walked on the walkway by the beach to the shop  to get some ice cream. I got some delicious chocolate ice cream from the shop. My family got raspberry ice cream.  We went to the pool because the sun  was burning our faces. We went  to the pools  to cool up  in the water. I went on the amazing colourful water slide. I went on the magnificent diving board and went  back up to the top of the water. Then I hopped out of the water and went on the magnificent long rope into the water. I swam back to the side of the pool and hopped out and went to the warm pool to warm up from getting in the cold pool. It was getting cold outside so I went inside to the warm pools and after an hour we went to the exit, got some lollies and went home and  had  homemade pizza for dinner. Then we watched movies that were called Jurassic World, Resolve and 8 below. Then we went to bed. Then we read a book  until we   went to sleep.

april student reflection

camoflauge

I was doing a task set out by teacher of doing a small video clip of trying to be camouflaged as much as possible. The part I found easy was hiding myself in amongst the ferns.
The trikiest part was taking the video whilst hiding.
If I was to complete the task again I would paint my face with face paint to match camouflage used.

Cameron sustainable seas

last week I was learning about sea life.
I enjoyed finding the facts because i like searching up about sea life.
I found it challenging to is trying to find images that go with the facts.

February reflection

Term 1 goal setting

my lenten promise

Lent is a time for giving something for those in need,  I am  going to give money to the poor. it it is also about  giving something up. And praying this is getting us ready for Easter.   

Hotuta Waka

Powa
And kiwa are some sea-voyagers and they came from a far far away land called hawiki and they came to Aotearoa on a waka called the Horouta and on the houta  and with them was poas sister Hinehākirirangi  and his daughter was Hineaku And kiwas Kahuanui was also armour all of the people on board and the hotota was a very fast waka and it carried the kumatha to Aotearoa and it was Hinehākirirangi’s to look after the kumatha hotoa sailed from hawaiki to Aotearoa and landed at Ohiwa whereby they hit a sandbar The hull and bow piece broke and the waka could sail prouply powa and kiwa spoke about how they would fix the houtota after many discussions they decided that kiwa would look after the waka and Powa Would look after the waka and Paoa to fix the Horouta. Kiwa made some minor repairs to the waka so it would be able to sail  when this was done. Horouta continued its course along the shoreline. Kiwa discovered a beautiful bay with birds animals, forests and sea life.While waiting for Paoa he named itTūranganui-a-Kiwa To commemorate the time he waited for powa to arrive Meanwhile Paoa climbed huge mountains, ran
through valleys and crossed rivers in search for the special timbers Powa came across a stream and their stode the  mighty tree he had founded the sotabol fix the Horouta waka.
He used the Waipaoa river to float the timber
down to the shoreline.
 suitable timber sPaoa finally arrived in Tūranganui-a-Kiwa.
It was celebrated by the union of his daughter
Hineakua to Kiwa’s son Kahuanui The descendants of these sea-voyaging
ancestors still live in Tūranganui-a-Kiwa today.

Hi my name is Cameron and I go to Saint Mary's school. I am a year 5 and I have 3 sisters and 1 brother. my dad and my mum  and my sisters are l and and  is the funnest sister ever.

I am good at rugby and soccer and i am good at reading and that is it that is all i am good at i enjoy playing games and i enjoy reading and i enjoy playing with my brother and sisters all the time i love my family so much.it is fun.

I am looking forward to reading math and cybersmart cybersmart is my favorite out of all of them and math is my second favorite thing to do and reading is my third favorite thing to do and that is all i like to do.
